What I'm watching: Somebody feed Phil
Rhetorical question: What are the two best things to do in the whole world? Easy answer: Travel and eat. In this original Netflix show Phil Rosenthal, the creator of the show Everybody Loves Raymond goes to Bangkok, Saigon, Tel Aviv, Lisbon, New Orleans and Mexico City to see the sights and taste the flavors, from the street food to the high-end restaurants.
What makes this show so much fun to watch is Phil himself. He is enthusiastic, game to try things, and appreciative of the food and the culture. He looks like this tall, skinny, awkward guy, and then he bites into his food, you can see in his face what a good time he's having, and then he talks to the cooks with the utmost respect and appreciation, and maybe a little dad joke to brighten their day. As if that's not sweet enough, he ends every episode skyping with his parents and telling them about his day. I mean!
For sure every place in this episode is now in my travel list. Where do you want to go?
